Hospitalized in Split - Intoxication
Hello I am an American who was traveling in Split for a holiday. Ended up drinking a little bit too much, blacked out and woke up in the hospital with an IV in my arm. Somehow the bill was only $240 kn.
Can anybody tell me why the bill was so cheap especially since I am a US citizen without Croatian healthcare insurance? Also did they notify the embassy of my stay? Just don’t know where my info is documented and ended up. Wish I could read my discharge papers but they are all in Croatian. Going to have to do google translate late.

Ask HN: What do you do on an Android phone that cannot be done on an iPhone?
Not trying to start a flame war. I am finally switching away from my trusty Nokia Lumia 920 because the browser wouldn't load m.uber.com and WhatsApp says app will be gone at the end of the year. I like the snappiness of Windows Phone and iPhone UI. Haven't checked Android phones recently but years ago the UI was laggy and no one except I seem to notice.
Also know that sideloading apps, blocking ads in apps etc. is much easier on Android so I am hard pressed to decide between the two.

A friend wants to break into coding and has asked my advice. He has an offer from Revature, which he describes as:
"They train their new associates for 10 to 12 weeks and then try to place them at different companies. Since the training is free and they also provide corporate housing, they require new associates to sign an agreement for a two year employment term. The first year pay is around 50k and the second year around 65k. The training is in Arlington Texas and after the training they can send me anywhere in the US to work depending on their clients needs."
My initial thoughts are that he would be better suited with an online school as being forced to travel for 2 years for that low of pay isn't a good deal. But I'm not up to speed on the subject and would appreciate advice.

Poly relationships are mostly destined for failure
For some reason, this site has obsessive defense mechanism for poly relationships. I'm not deleting my comments though, which were downvoted to shit.
"Because monogamous relationships never blow up right?" is a defense I see every time I have this argument.
You can't honestly believe poly relationships have the same success rate. How many happy old people poly relationships do you see? How many friends, parents, or celebrities, or youtubers, do you see having happy poly relationships?
It's inherently a cuckish design. Youre trying to be serious but at the same time seeing other people. Love triangles almost never end well. I've never seen a happy poly relationship yet ive seen so many try for one.
Monogamous or even friends with benefits, most of the time work a lot better. Having this uneven mix; serious feelings about the future yet fucking each other's friends, doesn't work. Humans are always going to have a bit of territorial tendency.
Being completely emotionally detatched, no strings or feelings, fucking for fun, OR being emotionally and physically exclusive to one another, have always been the better two options. Polyamory is an unstable, unpredictable, and psychologically damaging mix of the two.
Why it's vehemently supported and defended to be poly on this site is beyond me.

AITA for caling my step mom "obese"?
A little background info: I'm a tall dude. 6'4 to be exact. And on the skinny side of the weight spectrum. Safe to say I'm pretty insecure about my frame. My step mom on the other hand is short and on the overweight side of the spectrum. So apparently she loves calling me out on my frame every time we have a family outing or dinner. I've told my dad that it bothers me and he said to "just play it cool" and that it's "just how she is". I just let it slide.
Recently my dad held a family gathering at the city beach. Everything's going good and I'm rekindling with cousins I haven't seen in months. Here comes Angry Step Mom stomping up to us, grinning ear to ear, and blurting out how "skeletons shouldn't be caught swimming" how it's a "hazard" for "sticks" to swim. My cousins giggle in what I can only assume is nervous laughter. I reply with " as long as we're being safe we should also stop the obese whales from swimming, right?" Her previous smile becomes a frown and she stomps off to who knows where.
My dad overhead the whole thing and scolded me about how I was "out of line" and disrespectful. My cousins also agree with my dad and one even said it was "douchey", yet no one says anything about Angry Step Mom. She has done this countless times and I've always played it cool but this time was the last straw for me... AITA?
Edit: I forgot to mention this but yes, I have confronted her 1 on 1 about this multiple times. She's laughed me off and gaslight me each and every time I've tried having an adult conversation with her..
